Archery Lessons – Beginners Courses
AOER is holding a beginners’ course led by Andy Howe, the Club coach. The course runs on six consecutive Sundays, starting Sunday 27 July 2025 until 31 August at the Hutton Cranswick Sports and Recreation Association field.
Each day’s training starts at 10:00 for three hours until 13:00.
Who is it for?
Complete Archery beginners – no experience necessary. Age 10 and over (juniors must be continuously accompanied by a parent / guardian). There is no maximum age limit. Beginners must attend four of the six training days to complete the course.
Completion of a beginners course run by a GNAS affiliated club is a pre-requisite for membership of AOER and most other archery clubs.
There is no obligation to join AOER at completion of the course.
Content
Sessions are generally social and relaxed. The course covers safety (please wear enclosed footwear, so no open sandals or similar), etiquette, technique both sighted and bare bow, basic equipment knowledge, scoring and competitive archery
Cost
Cost is £60 for 18 and over, £30 for juniors.
Includes
6 x weekly 3 hr sessions, equipment hire, insurance, instruction.
